MUSIC, GIOVANNI ALLEVI AWARDED AT THE MENOTTI ART FESTIVAL IN SPOLETO
Thomas Shippers special award The Thomas Shippers special award was given to maestro Giovanni Allevi in the Menotti Art Festival in Spoleto.
Philosopher, composer, pianist and conductor, Giovanni Allevi, a leading figure in the contemporary classical music scene, fully reflects the spirit of the award. "Thomas Schippers contributed to the dissemination of Italian creativity in the world - said Allevi by withdrawing the prize - Now, after a unique season, that is the Menotti's Festival of Two Worlds, it is up to us to commit ourselves to giving life to a new wave of creativity that arises from the comparison between different worlds. I hope that Italy can find a central role in this scenario. ". The master also spoke about the 'Allevi Masterclass' project for the occasion. An innovative project aimed at selecting young talents who will join the Italian Symphony Orchestra during the artist's upcoming Christmas tour.
The award ceremony of the "Thomas Schippers" took place at Palazzo Leti Sansi which is a natural continuation of the Spoleto Art Festival Literature 2019.
The awards were presented to Giovanna Nocetti (Lifetime Achievement Award), Elisabetta Maschio (Orchestra Award), Alessandro Mormile (Press Award), Edoardo Riganti Fulginei (Young Talent Award), Francesco Raspagliesi (Special Commission Award), Daniela Dessì (Award in memory of the Soprano), Marcia Sedoc (Special Prize for cultural promotion). The event was conducted by the Actor Nicola Masotti and the sculptures of the Maiori artist Silvio Amato were presented to the winners. The President Prof. Luca Filipponi the Musical Artistic Director Tania di Giorgio and the Director of Communication Paola Biadetti are satisfied for the first edition of the Award: << This event also through this award is having more and more consents of public and critics >>.
